A new luxury estate was developed on a site facing Aspen Mountain.  After completion of house construction, the site was a gravelly slope devoid of vegetation and required restoration and enhancement.  The site was graded to create level areas connected by series of rustic stone steps and grassy terraces.  Large boulders and trees were placed by a crane to retain the slope and add scale and drama.  The landscape was  designed to look as if it had always been there with the house nestled into the site.  All trees, shrubs and perennials are native species selected to survive the altitude and climate.  The landscape was designed to be low maintenance and drought-tolerant.
